I mentioned earlier this week that we are planning a special event as part of our 3rd Birthday celebrations.
We had some interesting thoughts from some of you re: what the news might be:
But now the wait is over and I can proudly reveal that Sunday November 19th will see the very first session of
Polyphony Down the Pub Brighton!
With the plethora of fantastic music groups in the city (not to mention the brilliant Brighton Early Music Festival), I feel sure that we’ve picked the perfect 2nd home for our singin’ ‘n’ boozin’ funzone.
The venue is the glamourtastic Nightingale Room, upstairs at the Grand Central pub, which is centrally located (next to Brighton railway station) and has capacity for a huge number of singers.
The intention is to make it a regular (probably bi-monthly) session so if you’re in/around Brighton or you know keen singers in the area, please get the word out as we want to see loads of people there. Booking is now live via this link.
(If you’re based in London, it may interest you to know that you can currently make a return trip to Brighton on a Sunday via Thameslink for just £11.80…)
In what I hope won’t prove to be an act of hubris, we’ve set up a Twitter account for the event and it’s also listed on our Facebook page so again, please get the word out via your extensive social networks.
As I mentioned in Tuesday’s update, we’ll be looking at other cities in the UK in 2018 but for the moment, please throw your support behind making our Brighton shindig a success!
