I mentioned last week that we might have a Central London carol-singing opportunity
on Monday December 23rd and I’m pleased to confirm that we have been offered at least an hour’s slot in front of the Christmas Tree at Trafalgar Square.
***Update 18.12.19: The timings are now confirmed as 5.30pm – 7pm, with a call time of 5.15pm.***
I know that it’s very close to Christmas but anyone who has taken part in one of our public carol-singing events in previous years will know that it’s always a wonderful experience presenting to appreciative crowds our seasonal motets and chorales mixed in with regular carols.*
So, if you would like to take part, are sure you can definitely make it† and are willing to do a bit of preparatory homework in advance, please fill in the form asap as I need to confirm by this Wednesday (December 18th) that we’ll have enough singers.
***Update 22.12.19: We have now closed the sign-up list but feel free to come along and lead the audience singing!***
Cheers
Kevin
*Most of the carols arrangements are pretty standard – it’s mainly the motets and chorales that you’ll need to bone up on.
†Please don’t sign up unless you’re absolutely sure; drop-outs will really leave us in the lurch. Equally, if you know you can’t make it, there’s no need to reply to this post!
