#PDtPBirthday 2017 Setlist Part 4: Prepare for imminent brain-melt

On and on it trundles, the #PDtPBirthday setlist (see here for yesterday’s update). Here are a couple more stunners for you.

February 2017

Don’t fall off your chairs, but I’ve picked another secular number to represent February’s session. But when you recall the brain-melting beauty of Manchicourt‘s Long temps mon cueur languissoit, you’ll agree that it was the right decision.

January 2017

January’s choice was again a tricky one, with another madrigal coming in as a close runner-up (no, really), namely Kirbyes Alas! What hope of speeding?

However, we couldn’t have a really big celebration without a really big sound, so I’ve gone for Casali‘s double-choir joyfest, Gaudens gaudebo.

More great stuff tomorrow; exciting, isn’t it?

Cheers

I am a classical music enthusiast and a lover of choral music in particular. I run the Polyphony Down the Pub social/singing night, probably the most thrilling singing-Renaissance-motets-in-the-backroom-of-a-pub experience you could ever hope to have.
