The plain truth of the matter

is that if you were not at last week’s Summer Counterpint in the Cafe then you missed a strong contender for session of the year.

Granted, the set-list was full of crowd-pleasers such as Bennet‘s Weep, o mine eyes, Handl‘s Ecce, quomodo moritur justus and Arcadelt‘s Il bianco e dolce cigno, so it was always going to be a solid session.

Added to this list of glories, though, was a top-notch level of music-making, with everyone really listening and responding to one another, making it an immensely enjoyable evening.

Thanks to all who came along and thanks too to our hosts at Travelling Through.

Those of you who have been counting the days/hours/minutes till the return of our main Polyphony Down the Pub session need wait only a little longer, as we’ll be back at the Horse & Stables on Monday September 11th; details to follow later this week.

Cheers

I am a classical music enthusiast and a lover of choral music in particular. I run the Polyphony Down the Pub social/singing night, probably the most thrilling singing-Renaissance-motets-in-the-backroom-of-a-pub experience you could ever hope to have.
