OK, let’s try this again.

Back in April/May, I successfully jump-started PDtP & Counterpint after a long period of inactivity – and then carelessly let the batteries go flat again.

Sadly, owing to my other commitments, this stop/start approach looks set to continue for the foreseeable future but I’ll try to slot in a session whenever the schedule allows.

Before I let you know the details of our next session, I’ll remind those of you who are feeling acute symptoms of contrapuntal withdrawal that you might like to check out the London Motet & Madrigal Club who hold monthly come-&-sing events on Saturday evenings and the Lisson Grove Choir who sing Renaissance masses and motets every Sunday morning at the Church of Our Lady in St John’s Wood.

As neither group requires an on-going commitment they might appeal to many of you – though I’m sure you’ll want to attend as many of their events/services as you can!

Getting back to pub-based singing, I’ve managed to get the Horse & Stables on the evening of Monday August 5th. Apologies if you will be on holiday or going to hear the BBC Phil at the Proms that night but if you’re free we’d love to see you there.

Booking goes live via this link at 5pm on Friday July 26th, with more spaces released at 9am the next day. There’ll be slightly fewer places on offer as it’s likely to get super-hot in the venue, so please don’t take a place unless you know you’re going to use it.

Cheers

Kevin

I am a classical music enthusiast and a lover of choral music in particular. I run the Polyphony Down the Pub social/singing night, probably the most thrilling singing-Renaissance-motets-in-the-backroom-of-a-pub experience you could ever hope to have.
